The Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine UK is the data controller responsible for your personal data when you visit the Moving Medicine website. This privacy notice explains how and why we use personal information collected through the Moving Medicine website. Please note that the clinician resources website has its own separate Privacy Policy.

When we collect your personal data and what we collect

We collect your personal data when you complete our exit quiz, when you interact with our Coachbot or when you contact us regarding a Moving Medicine matter. The following table sets out what personal data we use, why we use it, and what our lawful basis is for using your personal data.

How we share your personal data

with our third-party Coachbot provider (Value Health Labs);
with our third-party providers for statistical and research analysis (though in most cases, this will be aggregated data which does not identify individuals);
with third‑party suppliers for administration purposes;
with third-party hosting sites or mass email platforms (such as Mailchimp) who help us issue Moving Medicine news; or
where we are legally required to do so.

We only share your personal data with third-party suppliers who provide sufficient guarantees regarding information security.

We do not share your personal data with any third parties for commercial or marketing purposes.

How long do we keep your personal data?

We will not keep your personal data for longer than is necessary for the purposes set out in this notice. For example:

data from enquiries will be kept for as long as needed to respond and to follow up, and then for a limited period in case of further questions
data used for email updates will be kept until you unsubscribe, plus a short period afterwards to maintain a record that you do not wish to be contacted
anonymised or aggregated data used for evaluation and reporting may be kept for longer, but this data does not identify you.

To facilitate optimal use of the Moving Medicine website, by means of a temporary ‘session’ cookie. These cookies disappear when your browser session ends.
